first Delta Epsilon Chi (DEX) students for their remarkable job at state
competition on Feb 21 & 22, 2008, and in recognizing Linda Duke for her
efforts in sponsoring this group and preparing them for the competition.
William Woods University DEX entered nine of these events with thirteen
students. Out of those nine events, WWU DEX placed 1st in five, 2nd in four, and 3rd in one event. The results are below.

On Thursday
night of the competition the Trivia game is played. The prize is $400 toward
International fees. This is an extremely competitive event. Our own
William Woods University DEX won 1st place by over 40 pts.

“DEX is a national organization for college students
preparing for careers in marketing, merchandising, or management.” (DEX ). It is a great resource and networking opportunity for
our students.
The state competition is a two day event held at Lodge of
the Four Seasons in
Lake Ozark
,
MO.
The two days include testing,
role play, prepared presentations, competitive games for chapter money
(trivia), a guest speaker, luncheon, and award ceremony. The students
that place at state level are eligible to travel to
Atlanta
Georgia
to compete at the International level of competition.
Schools that may be
included in this competition include Columbia College, Lincoln University,
Missouri Southern State University, Moberly Area Community College, North
Central Missouri College, Saint Louis University, Southeast Missouri State
University, Three Rivers Community College, University of Missouri-Columbia,
and William Woods University. Even with an ice storm, most schools were able to
attend.
