STACIE - Information Technology Specialist – New student managed Coffee Shop on campus
- Implemented Coffee Shop business plan for new campus student-managed coffee shop.
- Determined proper technology for facilitating the business side of the plan.
- Determined appropriate technology needed for student laptop use within the coffee shop.
- Checked with present PC and WiFi configurations, Point of Sale hardware and software and live marketing tool.
- Helped review the class survey data that was compiled into an Access Database from the Entrepreneurship class
- Registered an email for the coffee shop – woodscoffeeshop@live.com and set up electronic “live” spaces location.
- Determined with team best direction for implementation of a coffee shop website.
- Designed, developed and implemented website for Alpha Chi Omega.
KYLE - Hardware Specialist – Campus projects & Coffee Shop
- Worked in Burton 400 rewiring all the computers and setting up guest profiles so students cannot download to them.
- Worked on the student-managed campus Coffee Shop project. Helped determine technology needed for the coffee shop.
- Assisted the Business Division in repairing their video streaming project
- Worked with a Windows 2003 server to bring it up to network capacity. Set up a corporation that has worked in multiple places.
- Helped bring a terminal server online to the WWU network.
LAURA - Webmaster for City of Linn Creek
- Researched existing city websites from county
- Designed, developed and implemented full website for Linn Creek.
- Included advanced options of mail account, calendar option, marquee, fee table,
- Implemented training for Linn Creek staff in order to allow them to make minor changes to the website as needed.
Presented website to City Council of Linn Creek.
MANDY - Marketing/Advertising Administrator for Cookies & Dough business
As a Senior Business Administration major, with a concentration in Marketing/Advertising Mandy began a semester long project with a small business called Cookies & Dough in July. Utilizing various business classes, she completed the following:
- Helped organized a focus group and analyze the group’s comments.
- Worked with the owners to implement various suggestions after analyzing results of survey.
- Revised and redesigned the Cookies and Dough website with help from Website Development students
- Produced a brochure to be used to market the small business in the state capitol..
LIZ - Research and Implementation director – Student managed campus coffee shop
Lead team member for research and development of the various stages of the student-managed coffee shop
- Helped develop surveys from business plans to gather results on student opinions regarding the coffee shop.
- Worked with team to determined hardware and software options for operation of the technology
- Talked with Brian, current catering director on campus, about the computer and POS systems that will be needed to run the shop.
- Discussed marketing tools for advertising the shop
- Helped team determine hours of operation, types of mugs/logs, employment opportunities for students.
