University Ambassador Mission Statement
As a select group of William Woods University students, the University Ambassadors are composed of many unique individuals who are diverse in their activities, majors, gender and ethnicity. Our primary mission is to provide a favorable image of William Woods University to its many publics: the community, prospective students,parents, high school and community personnel, alumni, etc. The University Ambassadors are coordinated through the Office ofAdmissions and help tremendously with the recruitment process.
What We Do
- serve as tour guides including tours of the equestrian facilities
- host prospective students at the dining hall
- participate in all Office of Admissions events
- host prospective students when they spend the night on campus
- participate in after hours call nights when schedled by UA advisor
- attend Ambassador meetings
- participate in college fairs, barn parties, etc. as invited/needed by Admissions Representatives
- attend annual orientation/training session each fall and assist in training/mentoring new Ambassadors
- Work required office hours
Requirements for Potentional Student Ambassadors
General qualifications a University Ambassador must demonstration include:
- Good academic standing
- qualities of leadership and a desire to promote the University
- Resume demonstrating campus and/or community involvement
- Ability to balance academics and extracurricular activities
Application Process
- Complete an Ambassador application including essay questions
- Attach a resume showing campus and/or community involvement
- Personal interview with Ambassador Advisor
