Parents (and grandparents) of current students at the Woods are a key part of the WWU family. There are several ways in which parents can get involved in life at The Woods. One of these is to join the WWU Parents' Association. Simply complete and submit the registration form (PDF).
Parent Sponsor
Membership as a Parent Sponsor is one option. Parent Sponsors make a $100 tax-deductible gift to WWU that helps support student scholarships and programs such as the LEAD Program, which provides a $5,000 tuition reduction to full time, participating students. Parent Sponsors are listed in the annual donor honor roll in The Woods magazine, and receive a gift of appreciation for their first year of membership.
Parents' Council
Parent Sponsors are eligible for consideration for membership on the Parents' Council--a representative group that makes decisions about which WWU projects are funded with a designated portion of the funds collected from parents.
Parents' Community
Membership as a Parents' Community member is another option. Those who join as a Parent's Community member agree to share their contact information in the form of a booklet published by WWU and made available to current WWU students. This information is helpful when students are traveling. Should they be traveling and need directions or have car trouble, they have access to a trusted local resource who might provide directions to a reliable mechanic.
The Parents' Association supports the heart of The Woods: its students.
2007-2008 Parents' Association Parent Sponsors
The 2007-2008 Parents’ Association generously provided Woods students with wireless Internet access in and
around the Aldridge Center, which lies adjacent to Junior Lake. They also funded new furniture and updates to
the student recreation area around Junior Lake. The William Woods community is grateful to the members of the
