Gallagher PhotoScott T. Gallagher, Vice-President of University Advancement

A member of the WWU Executive Cabinet and alumnus of the University of Missouri, Scott Gallagher has worked extensively with the WWU President and Board of Trustees since his arrival at WWU in 2002 and serves as the primary major gifts officer for the University Advancement team. Scott Gallagher has held numerous leadership positions, including serving as a U.S. Senator's staff member, a bank examiner in the Missouri state treasurer's office, a cabinet secretary and director of programs for the governor of Rhode Island. Scott has also helped lead two travel agencies.

D. Scott Miniea, Associate Vice-President of University Advancement

A member of the WWU Executive Cabinet, Scott Miniea is responsible for overall management of the University Advancement team's efforts in the areas of development and alumni relations. He is also the University's specialist in grantsmanship, and holds two degrees in education from the University of Missouri and two lifetime teacher certifications (English and Spanish). Scott has a background in school administration, having spent time on staff at New Franklin and Fulton Public Schools. Scott also serves as the Heartland Region affiliate's director of the PeaceJam program and is a past chair and committee chair of the Missouri Service-Learning Advisory Council. Scott is a member of the American Association of Grant Professionals (AAGP) and the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP). Scott serves on the boards of Columbia Chorale, Inc. and Trail to a Cure, Inc., in Columbia, Missouri.

Tom Bander, Development Officer

Tom came to William Woods in 2005 after completing a Development Fellowship at the ISU Foundation and serving as a Graduate Assistant in the MU College of Business Development Office. Tom holds an MBA in nonprofit management from the Trulaske College of Business at the University of Missouri in addition to his bachelor’s degree from Iowa State University. Tom joined the development team as the annual fund coordinator, and he currently works with alumni and friends of the University as a development officer. Tom specializes in planned giving and has been a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) since 2004. Tom serves on the Stewardship & Development Commission of the Newman Center in Columbia, MO.

Amy LaRue Dittmer, Development Officer

An alumna of WWU (’97), Amy (LaRue) Dittmer works with alumni and friends of the University as a Development Officer. Amy joined the University team in 2008. As a student, she was a President’s Twenty member and involved in the Greek Community as President of the Delta Gamma chapter at WWU. Amy has a career history that includes stints as a trader on an equity trading desk in St. Louis and New York City. Amy currently works with alumni and friends of the University offering opportunities to support the mission of William Woods University, in addition to managing the President’s Club Giving Society and serving as the University's liaison to the Missouri Colleges' Fund.

An alumna of WWU ('75), Brenda (Sullivan) Foster coordinates community-oriented development activities including the Board of Associates, Fulton Colleges Fund, the collegiate license plate program, the Ivy Pathway, and the President's Community Council. Brenda serves as the University's representative to several local organizations, including serving as the treasurer of the Callaway County United Way, and serves as a special assistant to the Vice-President of University Advancement. Brenda is also the chair of the President's Concert and Lecture Series Committee.

Gabrielle Harrison joined the WWU staff in 2008. Gabrielle's role in the Advancement office is to provide support to the advancement team and to facilitate communication with the University's constituents including through Facebook and LinkedIn. Gabrielle holds a degree in fashion design and product development from Stephens College. Her interests include fashion design and equestrian activities.

Christie Hubbard began her work with the WWU staff in 2008. Christie's role in the University Advancement office is to provide onsite counsel to assist with fundraising efforts in various capacities.

Sharon Mather joined the advancement team in 2008. Her primary area of responsibility is coordination of the Annual Fund, an ongoing fundraising campaign whereby current students contact alumni, parents, and others to provide them with an opportunity to support The Woods. Sharon's background includes serving as an assistant to the President of MacMurray College.  She also served as that institution's director of alumni services and administrative assistant to the vice-president for advancement. In addition, Sharon has served as assistant director of the Western Region Education Center, Lincoln Land Community College. Sharon enjoys working with college students and alumni from all generations. Sharon holds a BS in psychology from MacMurray College.

Peggy is an alumna and holds two degrees in business from WWU ('99 and '01). Peggy is responsible for managing the area of advancement services, including prospect research, database management, gift processing, and myriad tasks pertaining to donor/alumni communications and relations. With a background in administrative services and quality process analysis, Peggy joined the WWU development staff in 1995. Peggy is a member of the Association of Professional Researchers for Advancement (APRA) at both the international and regional levels, is certified in the management of the development software module, and is a sponsoring member of the American Council on Gift Annuities.

Becky Stinson, Director of Alumni Activities

Becky (Bean) Stinson, a WWU alumna ('72), is responsible for coordinating activities related to the WWU Alumni Association, including planning and facilitating alumni gatherings, the annual Alumni Weekend, assisting in the development of alumni chapters, and managing the Fairchild Alumni House. Becky joined the WWU staff in 1994, working in student life as Orientation Director and then Director of Student Involvement and Greek Life. She moved to the University Advancement office in 2001. Becky holds a lifetime teaching certificate in Social Studies and Secondary Education, having taught in her home state of Texas. On campus Becky serves as advisor to the Chi Omega sorority and coordinates the Student Alumni Council and educates current students on the role of past philanthropy in their education today.

Janice (Pruitt) Tate ('85) works primarily in the area of advancement services. She is responsible for multiple tasks related to the University Advancement's extensive database of alumni and friends. With a background in legal administrative support and a degree in CIS from WWU, Janice joined the WWU staff in 2008.

Elaine Winters works primarily in the area of advancement services. She is responsible for the accurate and timely entry of data into the software tracking system and assists in ensuring the integrity of University Advancement's extensive database of alumni and friends. With a background in accounts receivables entry, Elaine joined the WWU staff in 2006.
